Assembly Bill 418, introduced by Assemblywoman Suzette Valladares (R-Santa Clarita), unanimously passed through both houses of Legislature and is set to be considered by the governor.
The bill aims to work to provide local governments and communities with resources needed to ensure critical services are available during power outages. During a blackout local governments work to adequately prepare and supply for emergencies and require more energy to support fire and police departments, food banks, and cooling centers.
