Santa Clarita City Council Endorses Suzette Valladares for State Senate

(Acton, CA) – Santa Clarita Mayor Jason Gibbs, Mayor Pro Tem Cameron Smyth, and Councilmembers Bill Miranda, Marsha McLean, and Laurene Weste are endorsing Suzette Valladares for the new 23rd State Senate District. Valladares previously represented the City of Santa Clarita in the California State Assembly, and it is the largest single city in the new 23rd State Senate District.

“I am so proud and honored to have the support of these longtime friends in our effort to win this State Senate seat. I’m a College of the Canyons Alum and worked one of my first jobs at Magic Mountain. The Santa Clarita Valley holds a special place in my heart. Working together, we have made significant progress, including providing millions of dollars to house women and families, supporting the Henry Mayo Hospital, and protecting surrounding hillsides from wildfire. I look forward to working closely with this Council when I am in the State Senate.”

Suzette Valladares previously carried Santa Clarita in the 2022 election. The new 23rd State Senate District includes the Santa Clarita Valley, Antelope Valley, the High Desert, including Hesperia, portions of Victorville, and mountain communities.
