(Santa Clarita) – The campaign to re-elect Assemblywoman Suzette Valladares to the newly drawn 40th Assembly District today announced an endorsement from the non-partisan Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA) PAC.
“We appreciate your strong and constant support for Proposition 13 and your excellent service to taxpayers,” said Jon Coupal, Chairman of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC in a letter announcing the endorsement. “We look forward to continuing to work with you in the years ahead.”
According to their website, HJTA-PAC primarily focuses on electing good pro-Proposition 13 candidates to the Assembly, state Senate and, occasionally, local offices. Candidates are screened through a questionnaire and interview with the goal of finding candidates who are taxpayer-friendly, fiscally responsible and dedicated to the principles of Proposition 13. Those who qualify are endorsed and HJTA-PAC publicizes the names of those who deserve the support of taxpayers.
HJTA-PAC is nonpartisan and will consider candidates of any party affiliation if they meet pro-taxpayer standards.
“Fighting for hard-working families who consistently pay their taxes but receive fewer returns from our state has always been a top priority,” said Assemblywoman Valladares. “Furthermore, Proposition 13 must remain a constant in California to keep our property taxes low, particularly as the cost of everything else in California from gas to food to power spirals out of control. I am proud of this endorsement, and proud of the work I do for our taxpayers every day.”
